Repair Technician

Department: Service and Repair
Location: East Syracuse, NY

  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis on systems that do not meet specification
  • Repair and test a variety of gas analysis and leak detection components and systems to ensure performance specifications and application-specific requirements are met
  • Work with Service Engineers to develop and maintain system test and repair processes, procedures and work instructions
  • Provide repair support to global Teams as needed
  • Support additional needs of the Syracuse Repair Services Team as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in technical discipline is preferred, or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
  • Emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to repair and test precision electrical and mechanical instruments and systems including handling small-scale components.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills with ability to complete assigned repairs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated while remaining part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic theory and understanding of standard vacuum instrumentation, e.g. gas analysis, leak detection, etc.
  • Basic knowledge in SAP

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, and competitive benefits package.
