Position Overview: 

INFICON is looking for an Advanced Buyer who will be responsible for purchasing a variety of commodities to support a high tech high mix manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has experience in exceeding delivery reliability and time targets in a similar environment, is an excellent communicator, and takes full ownership for achieving world class results.

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure material availability to production plan
  • Support (or lead) efforts to engage suppliers in lean manufacturing methodology in furtherance of shared cost savings and/or optimization
  • Maintain and grow supplier relationships in support of INFICON's tactical and strategic initiatives
  • Remain knowledgeable surrounding economic and industrial trends that impact the market's prices and capacity
  • Support supplier quality compliance activities - i.e. 8D process
  • Engagement with marketing and engineering departments surrounding new product development
  • Coordination of negotiation activities with respect to assigned commodity and/or supplier base
  • Monitor and reduce supplier lead-times
  • Monitor and improve supplier delivery reliability
  • Expedite non-conforming good returns
  • Material scheduling/presentation to the dock
  • Resolve issues regarding shipment/invoice discrepancies
  • Monitor purchase price change and opportunities for saving
  • Supporting role in strategic supplier development

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum  5+ years in a Procurement Role
  • Detail and Results oriented
  • Excellent priority setting ability
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Ability to Communicate and build relationships both internally and externally

 Preferred:  

  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience in a Pull Supply Chain System
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Higher

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  

Compensation will be commensurate with experience including a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, and competitive benefits package.
